Shipping & delivery

How long does it take for my order to ship?

Every item is printed and cut by hand in our Tokyo studio, so please allow 3–7 business days for your order to be prepared and dispatched. Around holidays and new releases it can take a little longer. You'll get an email as soon as your order ships.

How long does delivery take?

Estimated delivery times after dispatch:

  • Japan: 3–5 business days (tracked)
  • Asia: 5–15 business days
  • USA: 10–20 business days
  • Europe, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, Middle East: 10–20 business days

These are estimates, not guarantees. Customs and local postal services can add delays.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship from Tokyo to Japan and over 100 countries across Asia, North America, Europe, Oceania and the Middle East. If your country appears at checkout, we ship there. International shipping costs are calculated at checkout by destination and weight. Within Japan, shipping is ¥215, and free on orders of ¥4,000 or more (after discounts).

Is my order tracked?

Orders within Japan are tracked. International shipping is untracked, which keeps it affordable for small, light orders like stickers. You'll still get a shipping confirmation email when your order leaves our studio, but we can't trace untracked parcels once they've left Japan. If you need tracking for a larger order, email us before ordering and we'll see what we can do.

Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?

Possibly. Fried Bear Studio is still a one-person shop, and collecting import VAT/GST at checkout (so it would already be included in the price) is not something I can handle on my own yet. Depending on your country, your order may therefore be charged customs duties, import VAT/GST or handling fees on arrival, which are paid by the customer. US customers: since 2025, US duties can apply even to small parcels.

Once the shop grows, I plan to include these taxes at checkout so there are no surprises. Until then, if you are hit with an unexpectedly large charge, email contact@friedbear.com with proof (for example a photo of the customs notice) and I'll see what I can do.

By law, every parcel is declared with its true contents and value, so I can't mark orders as gifts.

About the products

How big are the stickers and what are they made of?

Die-cut stickers are about 3.5–6.5 cm, depending on the design (each product page lists the exact size). They are printed on high-quality sticker paper and finished with a glossy laminate, which makes them water-resistant.

Sticker sheets are about 8 × 14 cm and printed on glossy, water-resistant sticker paper. They are kiss-cut, so each little design peels off on its own.

Are the stickers waterproof?

Both the die-cut stickers and the sticker sheets are water-resistant. Splashes, rain and wiping are fine, so they work well on laptops, phone cases, journals and water bottles. They are not 100% waterproof, though: please keep them out of the dishwasher and avoid soaking them or long exposure to water.

How do the magnetic bookmarks work?

The bookmark folds over the top of your page, and two small magnets inside hold the front and back together, so it clips onto the page without sliding out and without damaging the paper. Closed, it's about 7 × 3.3 cm. Some designs show the bear's face on the front and his fluffy back on the other side.

Why does my item look slightly different from the photo?

Every piece is handmade: designed, printed, cut and finished by hand in Tokyo. Small differences of about 1–2 mm in size or cut line are normal and make each item a little unique. They aren't considered defects.

Who are Fried Bear, Tofu Bear and friends?

Fried Bear (あげクマ) is a little bear who fell into a tempura fryer and came out golden and crispy, with a shrimp tail behind his ear. Tofu Bear (とうふクマ) is his gentle wife, Fried Bear Jr. (あげクマJr.) is their son, and Kinako, Sakura and Matcha Bear are the extended family, each one a Japanese flavor. Read the full story on our About page.

Is the Cricut A4 template really free?

Yes. The Cricut A4 Max Cut Area Template (PNG + SVG) is free. It maps the real safe cut area on A4 paper for the Cricut Explorer 3 (18.3 × 26.98 cm) and includes corner markers that keep multi-layer designs aligned. The paid 100 JPY and 500 JPY options are the same file; they are only there if you would like to support me directly.

Orders, gifts & discounts

Do your products make good gifts?

Yes! Stickers, bookmarks and memo pads are light, flat and affordable, which makes them ideal small gifts, stocking fillers or souvenirs from Japan for anyone who loves cute characters, books or journaling. For international gifts, note that the parcel carries a customs declaration showing the order value.

What discounts do you offer?
  • 20% off your first order: applied automatically at checkout, no code needed.
  • Sticker deal: buy 5 or more die-cut stickers and get 20% off them (sticker sheets not included).
  • Free shipping in Japan on orders of ¥4,000 or more (after discounts).

Discounts can't be combined: one discount applies per order, and checkout automatically picks the one that saves you the most.

Do you offer wholesale or bulk orders?

We don't offer wholesale at the moment. If you're interested in stocking Fried Bear Studio products in your shop or café, or need a larger quantity, email contact@friedbear.com with what you have in mind and we'll get back to you.

Can I buy Fried Bear Studio products in person? Do you join events?

Yes! We sell in person at creator markets and handmade events in Japan. In November 2026 you can find us at Design Festa in Tokyo and at Yokohama Handmade Marche. Follow @friedbear.studio on Instagram for booth numbers and upcoming events.

Can I return or exchange an item?

Because every item is handmade, we generally can't accept returns or exchanges. If your order arrives damaged, defective or wrong, email us within 7 days with your order number and photos and we'll make it right. Customers in the EU may return unused items within 14 days. See the refund policy for details.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB, plus the other options shown at checkout (such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay or Google Pay where available). Prices are set in Japanese yen, including Japanese consumption tax. If you shop from outside Japan, Shopify automatically shows the prices converted to your local currency.
